Ottawa Senators Release Forward from PTO

Michael Dal Colle's PTO will not be leading to a contract, as the Ottawa Senators have released the 2014 fifth-overall pick from it.

Now, Dal Colle is right back to square one as an unrestricted free agent without a PTO. With the regular season being so close, the 26-year-old may have to settle for an AHL deal or even consider the possibility of heading overseas. Either way, the clock is ticking for the Richmond Hill native to find his next home.

Once viewed as a top-flight prospect, Dal Colle's value has decreased immensely, as he has not been able to cement himself as a full-time NHL player. In 112 career NHL games, he has eight goals to go along with 21 points. It will be intriguing to see if another team is willing to take a chance on him from here.
