Philadelphia Flyers Call Up 2 Players

The Philadelphia Flyers have called up Zack MacEwen and Louis Belpedio from the AHL.

MacEwen was a regular in the Flyers' lineup last season. In 75 games with the team, he had three goals, six assists, and a notable 110 penalty minutes. He plays the game like an old-fashioned Flyer, so his physicality will certainly make an impact while with the NHL squad. The 26-year-old will be aiming to impress to help his chances to stick around permanently. 

Belpedio's call-up is in response to Rasmus Ristolainen being placed on IR. The Flyers needed a fellow right-handed defenseman to help fill in, and now Belpedio is set to take advantage of that. In 69 games last season with the Laval Rocket of the AHL, he had 11 goals, 30 points, and 92 penalty minutes.
