Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman Placed on IR

The Philadelphia Flyers have moved Rasmus Ristolainen to injured reserve.

Ristolainen has been out of action for the Flyers due to an injury he suffered near the end of the preseason. This IR placement likely means that the 27-year-old defenseman is going to need a little more time to recover from his undisclosed injury.

Ristolainen is a defenseman who the Flyers will rely heavily on this season. Although he had a down year in 2021-22, Philadelphia showed confidence in him when they inked him to a five-year, $25 million contract extension last season. It will be intriguing to see if he can bounce back from here, but first, he will remain out and on IR.
