Philadelphia Flyers Forward Clears Waivers
Philadelphia Flyers forward Hayden Hodgson has cleared waivers.
Hodgson was placed on waivers on Friday after head coach John Tortorella openly stated to the media that he is trying to determine if the 26-year-old is ready for a full-time NHL role. Thus, this made his waiver placement not that surprising and now that he has cleared, he will have the opportunity to work on his craft with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Although being sent down is never a joyous moment for a player, there's reason to believe that Hodgson will be one of the Flyers' primary call-up options this campaign. In six games with the NHL team last season, he had a goal and two assists. With that, he also had 31 points in 46 games with the Phantoms, too.
Nevertheless, Hodgson is sticking with the Flyers organization. Let's see how he performs with the Phantoms from here.
