Philadelphia Flyers Place Forward on IR

The Philadelphia Flyers have placed Owen Tippett on injured reserve. As a result of this, he will be out for a minimum of one week.

This IR placement isn't all too surprising, as Tippett left the Flyers' season opener early injured. At the time of this writing, an estimated return time for Tippett has yet to be announced. Naturally, the Flyers and their fans will be hoping that this IR stint is only for a week.

Tippett was the main piece that the Flyers acquired from the Florida Panthers last season in the Claude Giroux trade, so expectations are high for the former first-round pick. In 42 games last season split between the two clubs, he had six goals and 14 points. Once he is healthy, we will have to wait and see if he can take that next step this year.
