Philadelphia Flyers Place Forward on Waivers
The Philadelphia Flyers have placed Hayden Hodgson on waivers.
This isn't all that surprising to see, as head coach John Tortorella noted on Thursday that Hodgson didn't have a good camp and that he's trying to figure out if the 26-year-old is ready to play at the NHL level. Thus, it makes sense that the Windsor native is hitting the wire, given Tortorella's comments.
Tortorella straight up says that he didn't think Hayden Hodgson had a great camp. He's trying to determine if he's ready to play in the NHL. Last night, he said, he determined he wasn't ready on that particular night.

Hodgson appeared in six games with the Flyers last season, where he had three points and 11 penalty minutes. Assuming he clears waivers from here, he will be aiming to impress with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and earn himself a call-up at a later date. Until then, we will have to wait and see if another club takes a chance on him first.
