Sabres Forward Placed on Waivers
The Buffalo Sabres have placed Riley Sheahan on waivers.
Sheahan made the Sabres' NHL roster out of training camp but was simply an extra forward for them. As a result, he has yet to make his season debut this campaign, and now Buffalo is letting him hit the waiver wire. Given his fairly cheap cap hit ($950,000) and plenty of NHL experience, perhaps another club needing some forward depth will claim him.
Sheahan spent this past season with the Seattle Kraken, where he had four goals and 17 points in 69 games. Overall, he is a solid bottom-six forward who can kill penalties and provide occasional secondary scoring, so let's see if the 30-year-old finds a new home from here.
