Seattle Kraken Sign Forward
The Seattle Kraken have signed Daniel Sprong to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $750,000 cap hit.
After not receiving a qualifying offer from the Kraken this offseason, Seattle then inked him to a PTO. Clearly, the 25-year-old has since impressed, as evidenced by this new contract. Now the Dutch winger will be aiming to cement himself a spot on their NHL roster and build off his solid start with the team last season.
After recording 14 points in 47 games with the Washington Capitals last season, they flipped him to the Kraken at the deadline. From there, Sprong quietly scored a decent six goals in 16 games. It will be intriguing to see if he can get a top-nine spot with the Kraken this year. At worst, he will continue to be a serviceable depth forward.
