Seattle Kraken Top Prospect Expected to Make Team
While speaking with Pierre LeBrun, Seattle Kraken GM Ron Francis said that he believes that Shane Wright will spend the 2022-23 season with the Seattle Kraken.
Francis also noted that it is a complete guarantee yet, but given how open he was with his comments, it seems more likely than not. Thus, we should see plenty of the 18-year-old center with the Kraken this season.
It was shocking to see Wright drop to number four overall in this year's draft, as he was viewed as the top prospect in his class for multiple years. Yet, the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Arizona Coyotes all passed on him. Definitely, a bold decision made by each team, but alas, now Wright is a Kraken and set to begin his career.
In 62 games this past season with the Kingston Frontenacs as their captain, Wright scored 32 goals and had 94 points.
