Senators Sign Forward to Extension
The Ottawa Senators have signed Mark Kastelic to a two-year, $1.67 million contract extension.
Kastelic has been off to a solid start with the Senators this season, so that likely played a role in this extension coming to fruition. In six games thus far, he has two goals to go along with a plus-2 rating. This comes after he had four points in 16 games last season as a rookie for Ottawa, so it is clear that he is heading in the right direction with his development.
Kastelic seems to be cementing himself a permanent spot in the Senators' bottom six due to his high degree of effort and tenacious playing style. It will be intriguing to see how he responds to inking this extension from here. All in all, another good move from Ottawa.
