Toronto Maple Leafs Defenseman Leaves Game Injured
During Monday's contest against the Arizona Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin left the game early after an awkward collision with Clayton Keller. The team has announced that Muzzin has suffered a neck injury.
At the time of this writing, an update regarding Muzzin's expected recovery time has not been announced. The Leafs will be hoping that the 33-year-old's injury is a minor one and that he will not have to miss too much time. This is because he is one of their top defensemen when healthy and is a leader in the room.
In four games this season, Muzzin has recorded an assist and sports a plus-1 rating. Here's to hoping that he can return to the lineup shortly. After an average 2-2-0 start to the year, the Leafs simply cannot afford to lose another important player to a long-term injury.
