Toronto Maple Leafs Make Roster Moves
The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed Jake Muzzin on injured reserve. In a corresponding move, Filip Kral has been called up to the NHL roster.
Muzzin's placement on IR is not surprising, as he left last game with a neck injury. At the time of this writing, a specific estimated recovery time has not been announced by the team, this IR placement means that he will be missing at least a week's worth of action. Certainly a blow for a Leafs team who is off to an underwhelming start. In four games this season, he has an assist and an even rating.
This call-up is big news for Kral, as he is set to make his NHL debut, assuming he gets into game action. The 22-year-old defenseman spent all of last season with the Toronto Marlies, where he had three goals to go along with 21 points in 58 games.
