Vancouver Canucks Place Forward on Waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have placed Justin Dowling on waivers. 

Dowling spent this past season with Vancouver, where he had two goals and two assists in 22 games. Overall, he served as an extra forward with the Canucks, but also spent time with the AHL affiliate in Abbotsford. In 15 games with the AHL squad, he had five goals to go along with nine assists. 

With Dowling being 32 years old and teams trying to finalize their rosters, it seems unlikely that someone will put a claim on him. The Calgary native should be a big contributor for Abbotsford this season and could get some call-ups along the way.
