Video: Elmer Soderblom Scores First NHL Goal
After an outstanding training camp, Detroit Red Wings fans were quite excited to see Elmer Soderblom play in his first NHL game. The 6-foot-8 winger certainly left an excellent impression in his debut, as he he scored his first career goal and it was the eventual game-winner.
Soderblom's line as a collective unit was the highlight of the night for the Red Wings. They each got on the scoresheet and simply made it very challenging for the Montreal Canadiens to play against them. Yet, Soderblom stole the show at the end of the day, and it was hard to believe that it was his first NHL game with how well he played.
Soderblom is a player to watch closely as this season continues. His size, skill, and speed make him a fun player to pay attention, and we will have to wait and see if Detroit found themselves another gem.
