Video: Mark Stone Scores GWG in Final Minute
With 24.9 seconds left in the game, Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone broke the tie and scored the game-winning goal with a beautiful wrist shot past Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.
This would be the 180th goal of Stone's career, but more importantly, a much-needed GWG. The Golden Knights have officially started the year on the right foot and will be aiming to continue this trend. Overall, definitely not a first bad game for them.
Jack Eichel, William Karlson, and Jonathan Marchessault each scored goals of their own to help Vegas secure the win. Those are the guys that the Golden Knights want to see scoring, so it was a pretty solid team effort for them in Game No.1 of the season.
