Washington Capitals Place 6 Players on Waivers

The Washington Capitals have shrunk their training camp roster rather noticeably, as six players have been placed on waivers. They are as followed: Zach Fucale, Beck Malenstyn, Garrett Pilon, Gabriel Carlsson, Dylan McIlrath, and Bobby Nardella.

Fucale of course played in his first NHL games last season for the Capitals and did very well in the process. Although he had a 1-1-1 record, his .924 SV% and 1.75 GAA show he was very reliable. Teams having injury trouble in goal could give him a look as a potential backup.

Malenstyn, Pilon, and Carlsson each made appearances in the NHL last season, but given Washington's strong depth, they were, unfortunately, unable to secure themselves spots on their regular season. As for McIlrath and Nardella they will once again be preparing for another year in the AHL.
