Winnipeg Jets Place Defenseman on Waivers
The Winnipeg Jets have made a cut from their preseason roster. Defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic is hitting the waiver wire.
Kovacevic appeared in his four first NHL games last season, where he had zero points and a plus-1 rating. With the Manitoba Moose, he was very effective, however, as he had 11 goals and 30 points in 69 contests. Overall, it was a good year for the 25-year-old, and that may lead to some interest on the waiver wire for him.
Yet, if Kovacevic clears, he should continue to be an important part of Manitoba's blueline in 2022-23. If he keeps playing well, we could even see him get more NHL time this campaign as well.
