Winnipeg Jets Star Placed on IR

The Winnipeg Jets have placed Nikolaj Ehlers on injured reserve. It is important to note that it is retroactive to October 18th, so he could return to the lineup as soon as next Thursday. In response to this IR placement, the Jets have called up Dominic Toninato.

Ehlers has missed the last two games for Winnipeg, so this IR placement isn't all too surprising. It's a shame, honestly, as the 26-year-old has been excellent for the Jets this season, as he already has three assists in two games. His extended absence is certainly bad news for a Jets team looking to start the season on the right note.

Toninato, on the other hand, was recently placed on waivers but cleared them. The 28-year-old appeared in 77 games last season for the Jets, where he had seven goals and seven assists.
