2 Bruins Leave Game With Injuries
As the Boston Bruins were finally getting closer to becoming a fully healthy team, the injury bug has come right back to bite them. During Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, both Jeremy Swayman and Derek Forbort left the game with injuries.
Swayman came in for relief of Linus Ullmark halfway through the second period, but he did not last too much longer after that. Captain Patrice Bergeron lost balance in front of the net and slid into Swayman's leg. From there, Swayman was unable to put any weight on his left leg and left the game. After the game, however, he was spotted walking around with ice on his leg knee. Thankfully, he was not using crutches.
Forbort, on the other hand, left with an upper-body injury. The 6-foot-4 defenseman has really stepped up for the Bruins this season and has emerged as their top defensive defenseman in the process. Therefore, they will be hoping that the 30-year-old does not have to miss too much time from here, as he will be hard to replace.
