3 Players Placed on Waivers
Three players are hitting the waiver wire today (Nov. 22). They are as followed: Wayne Simmonds (Toronto Maple Leafs), Zach Sanford (Nashville Predators), and Magnus Hellberg (Seattle Kraken).
This is the second time where Simmonds has been placed on waivers this season by the Maple Leafs. Due to the fact that he has been on Toronto's NHL roster for at least 30 days since his call-up, he had to go on the wire again. Teams in need of some grit in their bottom six could surely consider the prospect of claiming him. In four games this season with the Leafs, the 34-year-old winger has an assist.
Sanford definitely could be claimed. When noting that he carries an affordable $850,000 cap hit and recorded 30 points in 52 games with the St. Louis Blues in 2019-20, it seems possible that he could get some interest around the league.
Teams in need of some help in net could consider bringing in Hellberg. He already has been claimed off waivers twice this season (first by the Ottawa Senators and then reclaimed by the Kraken), so whose to say that it cannot happen again?
