Blackhawks Make Roster Moves
The Chicago Blackhawks have placed Seth Jones on injured reserve due to his recent thumb injury. With this, Chicago has called up Alex Regula to their NHL squad.
With Jones being out for the next three to four weeks, it makes sense for the Blackhawks to stick him on IR. This placement also allowed the Blackhawks to make a call-up, and Regula is the lucky defenseman to have received this opportunity.
Regula is surely going to get some playing time from here with the Blackhawks. The 22-year-old defenseman appeared in a game for Chicago already this season, where he had no points and an even rating. Over the last three seasons, he has appeared in 19 games, scoring a goal and sporting a minus-2 rating.
Regula is viewed as having the tools to blossom into an NHL defenseman, so this is a big test for him with Jones' injury. Let's see how he does from here.
