Buffalo Sabres Defenseman Set to Return

The struggling Buffalo Sabres finally have some good news heading their way, as Mattias Samuelsson is expected to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

When noting that the Sabres are currently on an eight-game losing streak and have plummeted in the standings because of it, Samuelsson's return is big for them. The 22-year-old defenseman is a big part of their blue line because of his solid defensive play and high upside. This of course led to him landing a massive seven-year, $30 million extension this offseason.

It will be intriguing to see if Samuelsson's return can help the Sabres turn things around. In five games this season, the 6-foot-4 defenseman has zero points and a plus-6 rating.
