Buffalo Sabres Make Roster Move
The Buffalo Sabres have called up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen from the AHL.
This call-up is in response to fellow netminder Eric Comrie getting injured against the Ottawa Senators. The Sabres needed a goalie to replace him, and Luukkonen is receiving a chance to play at the NHL level again because of it.
Luukkonen was excellent for the Sabres last season when called upon, and the truth is in his statistics. He may have had a 2-5-2 record in nine appearances, but his .917 SV% and 2.74 GAA show that he was effective and simply did not receive much scoring support. Let's see how he performs for the Sabres this time around while with them.
