Canucks' Horvat Rumored To Land With Surprise Team
The Vancouver Canucks continue their downward spiral and there's a ton of trade chatter surrounding them. The highest-valued trade piece the team has is Bo Horvat and there is a Stanley Cup contender that should come calling.
Mike Johnson suggested on TSN that, "There is absolutely a perfect match out there, and a team that is going for the Cup this year, the Carolina Hurricanes. The second line centre right now is Jesperi Kotkaniemi. He's not getting it done offensively the way they want, replacing Vincent Trocheck.
Kotkaniemi somehow has one goal and three points in 16 games while both his linemates lead the team in goals and points. Andrei Svechnikov has 12 goals and 18 points while Martin Necas has seven goals and 19 points. Adding in another scorer to replace Kotkaniemi on the second line would do the Hurricanes wonders offensively. Plus it would allow him to shift over to the wing where he was more effective while the team is banged up on the left side.
Johnson also stated that they are willing to make big swings when the time is right, and the time is right now. They already acquired Max Pacioretty and Brent Burns this past offseason and are in their window to win.
