Colorado Avalanche Send Down 2 Forwards
The Colorado Avalanche have sent Martin Kaut and Mikhail Maltsev back down to the AHL.
Kaut's demotion comes after his two-point night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. However, this could be a short-lived one, as this move very well could have been made due to salary cap reasons. Regardless, the 2018 first-round pick will be with the Colorado Eagles for the time being. In eight games on the year with the Avalanche, he has a goal and an assist.
Maltsev, on the other hand, has played in five games for the Avalanche this season, recording zero points and an even rating. The 6-foot-3 winger is trying to cement himself a role in Colorado's bottom six, but for now, he is heading back to the Eagles.
