Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Forward

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Joona Luoto from season-opening injured reserve. As a result, he is now set to begin his 2022-23 season down in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters. 

Luoto was one of the Blue Jackets' under-the-radar additions this past offseason, but he will now be looking to make a name for himself from here. The 25-year-old forward has appeared in 16 NHL games over his career, where he has zero points and a minus-3 rating. 

Luoto spent this past season with Tappara Tampere, where he had nine goals and 14 points in 27 regular-season games. However, in 14 games with the SM-liiga squad, he scored eight goals and recorded 17 points. He will now be aiming to translate that kind of offensive success to the Monsters from here.
