Columbus Blue Jackets Make Changes to Roster
The Columbus Blue Jackets have called up Tim Berni to their NHL roster. In a corresponding move, Brendan Gaunce has been sent down to the Cleveland Monsters.
This call-up is huge news for Berni, as his NHL debut should be on the way. The 2018 sixth-round pick has had a long journey to the NHL, but now he is finally getting his chance with the Blue Jackets. In 15 games this season with the Monsters, the 22-year-old defenseman has one goal, four points, and a plus-1 rating.
Gaunce, on the other hand, has played in five games for Columbus this season, recording one assist and a minus-1 rating. The 28-year-old would best be described as a depth forward, so he often finds himself bouncing around the NHL and AHL. With the Monsters this campaign, he has four goals and 11 points in 10 games.
