Dallas Stars Sign Star Forward to Massive Extension
The Dallas Stars are keeping one of their stars around for a long time, as they have inked Roope Hintz to an eight-year contract extension. He will have an average annual value of $8.45 million.
Hintz has emerged as a very important part of the Stars' offense over the last few seasons. After recording a 43-point campaign in 41 games during the 2020-21 campaign, he set new career highs with 37 goals and 72 points in 80 games last year. This year, he is just as hot offensively, as he has eight goals and 24 points in 22 contests.
With this signing, Hintz is officially a long-term part of the Stars' core and will form a strong offensive duo with Jason Robertson. Overall, this looks like a great move by Dallas now, but let's see how the 26-year-old performs from here after receiving his big payday.
