Edmonton Oilers Forward Inching Closer to Return
It appears that Tyler Benson is another step closer to returning for the Edmonton Oilers, as the 24-year-old has been assigned to the Bakersfield Condors on a conditioning loan.
Benson suffered a knee injury during the preseason and has not made his season debut for any league at the time of this writing. Yet, with this latest development, he is set to get his 2022-23 campaign started with the Condors.
Assuming Benson plays well during his conditioning stint in the AHL, it will likely lead to his eventual call-up to the Oilers. This is a big year for Benson, as he will be aiming to show the Oilers that he is ready to be a full-time NHL player. In 36 career games with Edmonton, he has a goal and two assists.
