Florida Panthers Call Up Forward

The Florida Panthers have called up Aleksi Heponiemi to their NHL roster.

Heponiemi has been off to a solid start for the Charlotte Checkers this season, as he has two goals and two assists in six games. The 23-year-old also had 39 points in 56 games last season for the Checkers, so it is clear that he has been good at the AHL level. Now, he will be aiming to translate that over to the NHL. Over his career thus far, he has appeared in 15 NHL games, where he has a goal and two assists. 

Heponiemi will be aiming to show the Panthers that he is NHL-ready. Shall he perform well from here, it could be exactly what leads to him obtaining a permanent spot in their bottom six.
