Los Angeles Kings Forward Sent Down to AHL
The Los Angeles Kings have sent down Quinton Byfield to the Ontario Reign.
Byfield has been out for the last six games due to an illness, so it seems that this "demotion" is more of a way to allow the 6-foot-5 center to get some reps in before rejoining the NHL club. In eight games so far this season, the 2020 second-overall pick has three assists to go along with a minus-1 rating. Overall, not the worst of starts, but the Kings will be hoping that he can break out once back with the NHL squad.
In the meantime, the Reign will be happy to have Byfield on their roster. In 11 games with the AHL squad last season, he had four goals and six points.
