Los Angeles Kings Make Multiple Roster Moves
The Los Angeles Kings have placed Brendan Lemieux on injured reserve. As a result, Lias Andersson and Jacob Moverare have been called up to the NHL squad.
Lemieux has once again been making an impact with his very physical style of play. In 15 games, he has 42 hits to go along with 28 penalty minutes. Although he has not been too dominant on the scoresheet (three assists), the Kings will miss his tenacity while he is out of action due to his lower-body injury.
This is a good opportunity for Andersson to show the Kings that he is ready to be in the NHL. The 2017 seventh-overall pick has had a lot of trouble developing into a full-time NHL player, but perhaps this call-up could be the beginning of that changing. In 109 career games, he has seven goals and 17 points.
Moverare is being called up to provide the Kings with more depth on the blue line. The 24-year-old played in his first 19 career games last season, where he had two assists and a plus-3 rating.
