Maple Leafs GM Comments on Recent Trade Rumors
The Toronto Maple Leafs are dealing with several injuries to their lineup, more specifically some big holes have been created on defense. Jake Muzzin and TJ Brodie are both out, with Muzzin likely out for the season, meanwhile Brodie will be out for two weeks.
While the trade rumors have been running rampant of late, turns out Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas isn't buying into the noise.
Dubas believes in his depth, citing both Timothy Liljegren and Rasmus Sandin. The two former first-round picks are going to be given a significant boost in playing time and the GM is confident both players can respond and make a serious impact to the lineup.
Maple Leafs' plan is to see if Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren can step up and handle greater responsibility.

Step 2 is to explore the trade market, but Dubas says they're in no rush to do so.
With 'no rush' to make a deal, Sandin and Liljegren will be given more of a look, same too can be said for veteran Jordie Benn, who scored in his first game of the season on Saturday night against his former team.
As for trade rumors, if there's another injury this week to a Maple Leafs' defenseman, there's no doubt Dubas will have no choice but to pull the trigger. The LA Kings, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets are all teams to watch who have a surplus of defensemen and may be interested in making a deal.
