Maple Leafs Named NHL's Most Valuable Franchise
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been named the NHL's most valuable franchise as the team is worth $2.12 billion.
The franchise valuations were released by Sportico on Tuesday and according to the report, the five most valuable franchises remained the same from last year's report. Top five include the Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins.
A good sign for the league, this was the first time the average NHL franchise was worth more than $1 billion. A figure that's up 9% from last season's average.
