Minnesota Wild & New York Rangers Complete Trade
The New York Rangers have traded Ryan Reaves to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick.
Reaves' name just started to surface in the rumor mill after it was reported that the veteran enforcer spoke with management about his decreased role. Now, it has been reported by Mollie Walker of the New York Post that Reaves officially requested a trade while the team was in Los Angeles. As a result, he is now with the Wild.
Reaves will give Minnesota a bit of a boost on their fourth line. With that, his toughness and grit should make a noticeable impact right away. The Rangers, on the other hand, have traded his $1.75 million cap hit, so they now have gained more cap space for the deadline. Overall, this seems like a win-win for both clubs, but we will have to wait and see how Reaves performs with Minnesota from here.
