Montreal Canadiens Defenseman Resumes Skating

Mike Matheson is another step closer to returning, as the 28-year-old defenseman skated for the first time since suffering his abdominal injury.

This is big news for both Matheson and the Canadiens. The Quebec native is aiming to make his team debut for the Canadiens shortly and is expected to be a major part of their blueline once healthy. In 74 games this past season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he set new career highs with 11 goals, 20 assists, and 31 points. Now, he will be aiming to build on this in Montreal.
