Montreal Canadiens Make Roster Moves
The Montreal Canadiens have made some roster moves worth noting. Rem Pitlick has been sent back down to the Laval Rocket, while Emil Heineman has been loaned to Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Pitlick was recently called back up to the NHL squad after clearing waivers. It's been a rough year for the 25-year-old forward, as he has yet to record a point and has a minus-2 rating in seven games with the Canadiens. This was after he recorded 26 points in 46 games with Montreal last season. Now, he is heading right back to Laval and will be aiming to put together some strong offensive numbers from here.
Heineman has not played at all this season due to a thumb injury, but this loan indicates that he is ready to get his 2022-23 campaign started. Acquired in last season's Tyler Toffoli trade from the Calgary Flames, Heineman will be aiming to take that next step in the SHL this year. In 38 games last season with Leksands, he had 11 goals and 16 points.
