Montreal Canadiens Rookie Suspended 2 Games for Boarding
Montreal Canadiens rookie and former first overall selection Juraj Slafkovsky has been suspended for two games for boarding Detroit Red Wings forward Matt Luff.
Luff suffered an upper-body injury on the play and is likely to miss 10-12 weeks. The 18-year-old Slafkovsky has gotten off to a slow start to his NHL career and this incident surely won't please management. So far in 10 games, the rookie has recorded just three goals and zero assists.
Here's the play which puts Luff on the shelve and Slafkovsky in the press box for two:
Matt Luff JUST got 16 stitches and lost some teeth after taking a puck to the face, then Juraj Slafkovsky does this. Disgusting.
