Nashville Predators Make Changes to Roster

With Kiefer Sherwood clearing waivers, the Nashville Predators have sent him down to the AHL. With this, the Predators have called up Mark Jankowski to the NHL roster as Sherwood's replacement.

This is simply great news for Jankowski. The 28-year-old forward settled for a two-way deal with the Predators late into the offseason, and now he is getting a crack at the NHL roster. Jankowski appeared in 19 games last season for the Buffalo Sabres, where he had two goals and five points. Over the course of his 272-game career, the 2012 first-round pick has 42 goals, 38 assists, and 80 points.

Sherwood, on the other hand, has played in five games this season with the Predators, scoring a goal and recording an assist. The 27-year-old was healthy scratched as of late, so his demotion was not too surprising. Yet, with the Milwaukee Admirals, he should be a major part of their offense, as he dominates the AHL level. Need proof? In 57 games last season with the Colorado Eagles, he had 36 goals and 75 points.
