New York Islanders Call Up Defenseman

The New York Islanders have called up Robin Salo to their NHL roster. 

Salo was recently demoted to the AHL, but now he is heading right back to Long Island. The 24-year-old has primarily been a healthy scratch while with the Islanders this season but has also been effective when utilized. In four NHL games on the season, the 2017 second-round pick has two goals to go along with a plus-1 rating. 

Now that Salo is back with the NHL squad, he will be hoping to impress. The left of their defense is not the strongest, so the 24-year-old does have a chance to steal a spot from Sebastian Aho. Alas, let's see if he can do just that from here. If not, he will simply remain the team's seventh defenseman for the time being.
