New York Islanders Make Roster Move
The New York Islanders have sent Robin Salo back down to the AHL.
This demotion isn't the most surprising, as Salo is probably best described as a depth defenseman for the Islanders. He has already been sent down to the Bridgeport Islanders this season briefly as well because of it. However, when utilized by the NHL squad this season, he has been solid, as he has two goals and a plus-1 rating in four games. Yet, that hasn't been enough for him to get a permanent spot in their lineup, and now he is heading back to the AHL because of it.
Salo is coming off of a season that saw him score four goals and record 40 games with Bridgeport. There's no question that he can produce well from the point at the AHL level, so they will surely be happy to have him back from here.
