NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets & Canucks Becoming Trading Candidates
According to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, the Vancouver Canucks engaged in trade talks with the Columbus Blue Jackets this offseason regarding forward Jack Roslovic. Columbus, however, was against the idea of moving him at the time. Yet, things may be changing on that front.
Roslovic has had a very rough 2022-23 season thus far, as he has just six points and a minus-6 rating in 15 games. Even with the Blue Jackets' weak center depth, the 25-year-old was a healthy scratch this campaign as well, so there's no question that Columbus would be open to hearing offers for him.
The Canucks, on the other hand, would be wise to add to their center depth. Bo Horvat is one of the biggest names in the rumor mill due to his pending UFA status and Vancouver's horrible start to the season. Therefore, if the worst case scenario happens with Horvat, Vancouver will need to start looking at centers around the league.
Nevertheless, perhaps these two teams could begin discussing a potential move centering around Roslovic again. It could be a win-win for both clubs.
