NHL Rumors: Capitals & Canadiens Emerging as Trade Candidates
According to Pierre LeBrun, the Montreal Canadiens are looking to trade one of their surplus of forwards, and the Washington Capitals could be the perfect trading partner because of their abundance of injuries up front.
Recently, Connor Brown was ruled out for the rest of the season, while Tom Wilson, Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, and Carl Hagelin are all sidelined. The Capitals are also off to a rather disappointing start for their standards, as they are 5-5-2. That is unacceptable for a team with Stanley Cup aspirations, and their injury trouble makes it even harder for them to turn things around. Thus, perhaps it's time to call Montreal.
Trading candidates from the Canadiens include Mike Hoffman, Christian Dvorak, Jonathan Drouin, Josh Anderson, Evgenii Dadonov, and Sean Monahan. We will have to wait and see if something comes to fruition between these two clubs from here.
