NHL Rumors: Columbus Blue Jackets Forward to be Shopped
It has been a year to forget for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and changes are going to be made because of it. Players like Vladislav Gavrikov, Gustav Nyquist, and Jack Roslovic have already been heating up in the rumor mill, but another player who we should be keeping an eye on is Jakub Voracek.
Voracek carries a hefty $8.25 million cap hit until the end of the 2023-24 season, so the Blue Jackets would likely need to retain some of his salary in any trade centering around him. With that, the 33-year-old will first need to get healthy before a move goes down.
Still, Voracek should surely get attention on the trade market if the Blue Jackets make him available. Although he only has six points in 11 games this season, he is coming off of a 62-point campaign in 79 games last season. With that, he has been an effective top-six forward for several years now, so expect contenders to call about him once we get closer to the deadline.
