NHL Rumors: Coyotes Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate
While on Hockey Night in Canada's 32 Thoughts segment Saturday (Nov. 19), Elliotte Friedman noted that the Arizona Coyotes might shop defenseman Conor Timmins now that he is close to being fully healthy.
Timmins was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche during the 2021 NHL Offseason in the Darcy Kuemper trade. The 24-year-old was expected to thrive in a big role with the Coyotes, but injuries have forced him to play only eight total games since being acquired. Yet, Friedman now is wondering if the Coyotes will shop him with his return right around the corner.
The Coyotes are obviously in a full-on rebuild, so if they can get something nice in return for Timmins, it would be an avenue worth exploring. Yet, for any trade to occur, Timmins will first need to stay healthy for a long period of time and course be productive at the NHL level. Given his high potential, we will have to wait and see if teams start calling about him from here.
