At this juncture, Hayes' trade value is arguably at its highest. The 30-year-old is having a fantastic season when it comes to his offensive numbers, as he has six goals and 22 points in 22 contests. As a result, the chances of teams being interested in him and his hefty $7,142,857 cap hit are likely higher, and the Flyers would be wise to take advantage of this.

Hayes is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 season and carries a 12-team no-trade list. It is unlikely that the Flyers will be contenders by the time this contract reaches its conclusion, so perhaps now is the time to shop the top-six center.
