NHL Rumors: Oilers & Blues Emerging as Blockbuster Candidates
According to Mike Johnson, the Edmonton Oilers could be a perfect landing spot for St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko.
Johnson noted that the Oilers needing another top-six winger along with Evander Kane being out long term as the reasoning behind this. With that, he noted that the Oilers could get creative in fitting Tarasenko in their salary cap. It would likely mean trading away Warren Foegele and Jesse Puljujarvi - among other assets.
Tarasenko has been wanting out of St. Louis since the 2021 NHL offseason, but he has yet to find a new home. If the Blues continue to struggle and find themselves out of the playoff race around the deadline, looking for Edmonton and St. Louis to become trading partners.
