NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators Forward to be Traded

The Ottawa Senators may have had a busy offseason, but that hasn't stopped them from being near the bottom of the NHL standings in 2022-23. As a result of this, it seems more likely than not that they will be sellers at the deadline once again this season. One player who we should see moved because of this is veteran forward Derick Brassard.

Brassard is no stranger to being on the move, as he has played for eight different teams since the 2018-19 season alone. However, even while having to adjust to several new teams over that span, he has remained a decent bottom-six forward. In 14 games this season with Ottawa, for example, he has three goals and three assists.

Teams in need of some secondary scoring and depth could surely make a push for Brassard at the deadline. The 2006 first-round pick has over 900 games of NHL experience, so that also could help his chances of being moved to a contender come deadline time. Alas, let's see what happens with him from here.
