NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators Have Trade Blocked
The Ottawa Senators have been one of the more active teams on the trade market. General manager Pierre Dorion has been trying for weeks to land a veteran defenseman, however to this point there's been no luck.
Rumor has the Senators had a trade in place with another team and when the player was approached about waiving his no-trade clause to head to Ottawa, the deal was nixed.
So far there's been no word yet on the identity of the defenseman. The Senators sit last place in their division, and after a very busy summer, haven't been able to piece it together.
Friedman talks about the Dorion scrum and how he switched from we’re trying to find a defenceman to I think Sanderson and JBD could be the answers. Marek says he could have switched his thought due to a frustration in the market place.

Ottawa has been linked to multiple defensemen including Arizona Coyotes' blueliner Jakob Chychrun. Worth noting Chychrun does not have any no-trade protection and can be ruled out of this mystery. Look for the Sens to continue to work the phones and expect to see a deal completed in the next couple of weeks.
