NHL Rumors: Sharks Listening to Offers for Star Defenseman
While speaking with NHL.com's Nicholas Cotsonika, San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier said that he is willing to hear offers for star defenseman Erik Karlsson.
This is not surprising to hear. Last month, NHL insider Pierre Lebrun reported that the Sharks are open to fielding calls regarding every player on their roster besides Tomas Hertl. It appears that San Jose is finally ready to embrace a rebuild and with the way Karlsson is currently dominating the league, they surely could land a sweet return for him. The kicker, however, is that they would also need to retain some of his salary to get a deal to work.
What a year it has been for Karlsson, though. In 18 games thus far, he has 10 goals and 24 points. The 32-year-old is looking like his former superstar self, so let's see if a sizeable market forms for his services from here.
